Fiesta Dining

This eclectic dining room is one of our favorites and elicits reactions of awe and wonder by most visitors to the space. With a small budget we used an unexpected amalgamation of heirlooms and pieces curated from each period of the family’s relocation history.

The Details

We bathed the walls and trim from the floor to the mirrors in Sherwin Williams Turkish Tile to create a deep moody vibe. The stunning chandelier with vintage milk glass bobeche and the French antique buffet are inherited pieces. The modern painting collection was a house-warming gift from local Frisco artist, Bill Gerton.

The Furnishings

The authentic colonial scale from Queen of Hearts Antiques and the copper elliptical table with iron base from Atlanta’s warehouse district are family favorites from a previous residence in Georgia. The table is set with Mexican hand-painted dishes collected by the owner while living in Houston. The table is accented with pieces of art glass from a memorable period in St. Joseph, a quaint town on Lake Michigan. The intriguing mosaic urn with drop-in monstera was made by the owner’s sister, jewelry designer Catherine Page and is reminiscent of a period of living abroad. The eclectic ensemble is kept on trend with mid-century modern dining chairs, the only new purchase in the room.

“When we hired Liz, we were looking for a designer who would think out of the box. We had some interesting collections and heirlooms and had no idea if we could make them work together. Thankfully, Liz was able to do her magic and make it all work, saving us a ton of money and keeping the things that are special to my wife and I. Thank you, Liz, for doing such a great job!”
