This Bachelor came to us with a vision for vibrant color and was particularly drawn to bright orange and royal navy. As an out-of-the-box thinker, he was seeking anything but boring and traditional. We first chose this Rubik’s Cube meets Frank Lloyd Wright Premium Stack Wallpaper from Wallism to satisfy his passion for the famous architect and his love for problem solving and building things. “People come over and see the wall and ask if I built it!” he said.

The Details

His hobby of building rockets, proudly displayed as a centerpiece on top of the mid-century modern console, was one of our foundations for the design. We continued the stack theme by choosing very tall bookshelves that mimic the wallpaper pattern and indulge the high ceilings. The eclectic epoxy beverage and sofa-back tables keep things interesting, making the space a playground for the eye. We added the abstract rug and block pillows to keep the room moving, as well as the vectors representing the client’s favorite travel destinations from Barcelona to Gdynia, Poland. It was a challenge to incorporate the more traditional floral paintings he already possessed into the design but we did it seamlessly in the dining room so that he can enjoy the good memories they represent. A special thanks to his mother for completing the design with her own loving touch, the colorful dish and drink ware. (She beat us to it!)
